Surah Al-Fatiha

This is a Tafseer (a translation) of one of the MOST POWERFUL Surahs in the Glorious Qur’an. We the Muslims recite this (should recite this) every single day. Yet how many of us actually know what we are saying to Our Lord? In sha Allah expand your knowledge of our Beautiful Islam to get closer to Your Creator and the return from HIM subhanahu wa Ta’ala are unmeasurable…

ุจูุณู’ู…ู ุงู„ู„ูŽู‘ู‡ู ุงู„ุฑูŽู‘ุญู’ู…ูŽู€ู†ู ุงู„ุฑูŽู‘ุญููŠู…ู

(1. In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.)

ุงู„ู’ุญูŽู…ู’ุฏู ู„ู„ูŽู‘ู‡ู ุฑูŽุจูู‘ ุงู„ู’ุนูŽู€ู„ูŽู…ููŠู†ูŽ

(2. All praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of existence.)

Allah says, `My servant has praised Me.’ When the servant says,

ุงู„ุฑูŽู‘ุญู’ู…ูŽู€ู†ู ุงู„ุฑูŽู‘ุญููŠู…ู

(3. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.)

Allah says, `My servant has glorified Me.’ When he says,

ู…ูŽู€ู„ููƒู ูŠูŽูˆู’ู…ู ุงู„ุฏูู‘ูŠู†ู

(4. The Owner of the Day of Recompense.)

Allah says, `My servant has glorified Me,’ or `My servant has related all matters to Me.’ When he says,

ุฅููŠูŽู‘ุงูƒูŽ ู†ูŽุนู’ุจูุฏู ูˆูŽุฅููŠูŽู‘ุงูƒูŽ ู†ูŽุณู’ุชูŽุนููŠู†ู

(5. You (alone) we worship, and You (alone) we ask for help.)

Allah says, `This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he sought.’ When he says,

ุงู‡ู’ุฏูู†ูŽุง ุงู„ุตูู‘ุฑูŽุงุทูŽ ุงู„ู’ู…ูุณู’ุชูŽู‚ููŠู…ูŽ – ุตูุฑูŽุงุทูŽ ุงู„ูŽู‘ุฐููŠู†ูŽ ุฃูŽู†ู’ุนูŽู…ู’ุชูŽ ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู’ู‡ูู…ู’ ุบูŽูŠู’ุฑู ุงู„ู’ู…ูŽุบู’ุถููˆุจู ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู’ู‡ูู…ู’ ูˆูŽู„ุงูŽ ุงู„ุถูŽู‘ุขู„ูู‘ูŠู†ูŽ

(6. Guide us to the straight path.)
(7. The way of those on whom You have granted Your grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray),

Allah swt says, `This is for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for.’).”

These are the words of An-Nasa’i, while both Muslim and An-Nasa’i collected the following wording, “A half of it is for Me and a half for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for.”
