No matter how deep a Molvi (religious scholar) speaks, who really listens to him? But if a ‘Mr. Somebody’ or a ‘personality’ says something philosophical, even if it’s hollow, we try to find depth in it. The irony is, the Molvi presents the pure essence of the Qur’an and Hadith — yet we fail to understand it. Why? Because accepting it means we must kill our ego, abandon sins, and change our lives. Take Dubai’s laws, for example — nobody questions why they’re so strict, nor do they look for philosophy or loopholes in them. But when it comes to the laws of Islam, suddenly people want room for interpretation and flexibility. Where’s the justice in that? Yes, Allah is indeed Most Forgiving and Most Merciful — no doubt. But He who created us also designed all divine laws perfectly in harmony with our nature. If we only rely on philosophical interpretations of Allah’s mercy while neglecting the Qur’an and Hadith, then this world will become a jungle — everyone committing sins and crimes while saying: ‘Allah is Merciful, He will forgive me.’ The real question is — was there anyone more aware of Allah’s mercy than the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ? Were there any lovers of the Prophet greater than the Companions (رضی اللہ عنہم)? Didn’t they understand the vastness of Allah’s mercy better than us? Certainly — they knew and recognized it far more than we ever could. Yet, they strictly followed the divine laws. But today, fake Sufis and so-called scholars have distorted the essence of Deen (faith). The only reliable paths are those that were walked by true lovers of God — those who returned after giving everything, and those who found the ultimate destination through devotion. O Allah, first reform me. Grant me the strength to follow You and Your Messenger ﷺ with sincerity and truth. Ameen.
