115 Hadith on Knowledge and Good Character, and Five beneficial Du’a,

 

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “I guarantee a house in the middle of Jannah, for the one who gives up arguing even If he is right, and I guarantee a house in the middle of Jannah, for the one who gives up lying even If he is Joking, and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for the one with good manners.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4800)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The most hated person in the sight of Allah is the most quarrelsome person.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best among you are those with best manners and character.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Most complete of the believers in faith is the one with best character.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The nearest of you to me on the Day of resurrection will be the one best in character.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of people are those with most excellent character.” (Tabarani)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Those who have good manners will have the same level of merit as those who spend their nights in prayers.” (Sahih Muslim)

Anas Ibn Maalik (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) had the best character amongst the people.” (Sahih Muslim 2310)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not wish to be like anyone except for two: A man whom Allah has given wealth, and he spends it righteously (to earn pleasure of Allah), and man whom Allah has given Wisdom, and he acts upon it and teaches to others.” (Sahih Al Bukhari 73, Fath Al Bari Page 177, Volume 1)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You are neither hard hearted nor of a fierce character, nor the one who shouts in the markets, you do not return evil for evil but excuse and forgive.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace And Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You do not do evil to those who do evil to you, but you deal with them with forgiveness and kindness.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last day, must speak what is good or remain silent.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Nothing will be heavier on the day of resurrection in the scale of the believer than good character, Allah hates those who use course or foul language.” (Tirmidhi 2002)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “…and treat the people with good behaviour.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Save yourself from Hellfire by giving even half a date in charity, If he cannot find it, then with a kind word.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A Kind word is charity.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of you in Islam is the best of you in character, when they possess the understanding.” (Al Adab Al Mufrid)

The Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: can a Muslim be a coward? He said: Yes. He was again asked: Can a Muslim be a miser? He said: Yes. He was again asked: Can a Muslim be Liar? He said: No.” (al Muwatta)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to hellfire.” (Al Adab Al Mufrid)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible to except in three cases: Something a man tells to his wife to please her, to lie during war, and to make good relations between two people.” (Tirmidhi, Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Most of your sins are because of your tongue.” (Al Mujam Al Kabeer)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever guarantees to me the chastity of whatever is between his two tongues and whatever is between his two legs, I guarantee him Jannah.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not backbite Muslims and do not search for their faults, for If anyone searches for their faults, Allah will search for his faults, and when Allah searches for the faults of anyone, He humiliates him (even If he hides) in his house.” (Abu Dawud)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not criticise, you will not die until you experience what you criticise.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A true believer is not Involved in taunting others, or frequently cursing others or In Indecency or In abusing others.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Abusing a Muslim is like murdering him, and accusing him of disbelief, It is as though he has killed him.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O Allah! I am but a man, If I hurt others in any way, forgive me and do not punish me.” (Musnad Ahmad)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings Of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever is Harsh with others, Allah will be harsh with him.” (Jami At Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The most hated speech to Allah, is when a man says to another man ‘Fear Allah’, and he says ‘Worry about yourself.” [Al Albani (Rahimullah]

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah dislikes three things, for you: Gossip, wasting wealth and useless talk.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Pay the worker his wages before his sweat dries.” (Abu Dawud)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three people whom Allah will not speak to on the day of resurrection, nor purify then, and neither look at them. They are: An old man who commits Zina, a Ruler who lies, and a proud poor person.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best among you are those who bring the most benefit to humanity.” (Daraqutni)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last day, Let him uphold his ties of kinship.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “He is not one of us who sleeps with a full stomach while the neighbour to his side goes to sleep hungry.” (Sunan Al Kubra 19049)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “None of you will have true faith until he loves for his neighbour what he loves for himself.” (Sahih Al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother, what he loves for himself.” (Sahih Al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, he does not oppress him or hand him over to an oppressor, Whoever fulfilled the needs of his Muslim brother, Allah will fulfill his needs, Whoever brings his Muslim brother out of discomfort, Allah will bring him out of discomfort on the day of resurrection, Whoever conceals the fault of his Muslim brother, Allah will Conceal his faults, Whoever screens his Muslim brother, Allah will screen him on the day of resurrection.” (Sahih Al Bukhari 2442)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever conceals the fault of his Muslim brother, Allah will conceal his fault. Allah will keep on helping the man as long as he keeps on helping his brother.” (Musnad Ahmad)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Help your brother, If he is an oppressed or an oppressor. They asked: How can we help him when he is an oppressor? Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “By holding him back from doing oppression.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is not lawful for a Muslim to scare another Muslim.” [Sahih At Targheeb, Classed as Sahih by Al Albani (Rahimullah)]

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whenever a Muslim worshipper is insulted, this becomes charity for him.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Insulting a Muslim is an evil doing.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Doing good is good manners, and doing evil is what troubles you inside and what you do not want others to know about.” (Sahih Al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best among you are those who are best to their women.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Best Among you are those who are best to their wife.” (Ibn Majah)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not laugh too much, laughing too much Deadens the heart.” (Tirmidhi 2305, Sunan Ibn Majah 4193, Sahih Al Jami 7312)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There is nothing better for two who love each other, then marriage.” (Sahih Al Jami)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who looks after a widow and an orphan, is like a mujahid in the cause of Allah, or like the one who fasts all day and stand in prayer all night.” (Tirmidhi 1969)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not sit between two people, without their permission.” (Sahih Al Jami 7228)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Abusing a Muslim is an evil doing, and fighting him is disbelief.” (Sahih Al Bukhari 38)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever harms others, Allah will harm him, and whoever is hard with others (Harsh), Allah will be hard with him.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 3635)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever is kind, gentle and easy to deal with, will enter Jannah.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Those who remember death, and have best prepared for it with good deeds, those are the wisest.” (Ibn Majah 4259)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever relieves his Muslim brother out of discomfort of this world. Allah will bring him out of discomfort on the day of resurrection.” (Tirmidhi, Volume 4, Book 1, Hadith 1930)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You must be truthful. For truthfulness leads to dutifulness and dutifulness leads to Garden (Jannah).” (Al Adab Al Mufrid)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Everyone of you is a shepherd, and is responsible for his flock (what is under his care).” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever does not show Mercy to the people, Allah will not show mercy to him.” (Tirmidhi 1922)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Smiling In the face of your brother is charity.” (At-Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Sahih Muslim)

Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) said: “His (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon) character was that of the Quran.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings Of Allah be upon him) said: “Good does not produce anything but good.” (Sahih Muslim 1052)

Abu Musa Al Ashari (May Allah be please with him) narrated, Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Feed the Hungry, Visit the Sick and set free the captives.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Rights Of Muslim upon another Muslim are 5: Return his Salam, accept his invitation, visit him when he is sick, attend his funeral and say ‘Yarmukh Allah’ when he sneezes.” (Musnad Ahmad, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, fear of people should not prevent a man from speaking the truth, If he knows it.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 4007).

Knowledge:

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever travels on a Path in search of Knowledge, Allah makes his path easier to Jannah.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Seeking Knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 224)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “(O Allah), grant beneficial knowledge, good deeds and provision which are accepted by you.” (Mishkat).

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The world is accursed and whatever is in it, is accursed, except for what pleases Allah, the religious scholars and the seekers of knowledge.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “No man goes out of his house in order to seek knowledge, but Angels lower their wings in approval of his action.” (Ibn Majah 226)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever travels in a path in search of knowledge, Allah makes his path easier to Jannah. Verily, the Angels lower their wings for the seekers of knowledge. Verily, the Inhabitants Of the heavens and the Earth, even the ant in his hole and the fish in the depth of the ocean seeks forgiveness for the scholar. Verily, The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the moon over the stars. Verily, scholars are the Inheritors of the Prophets, they do not leave behind gold or silver coins, rather they leave behind knowledge, Whoever has taken a hold of It has been granted an abundant share.” (Sunan Abu Dawud)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Scholars are the Successors of the Prophets, they do not leave behind gold or silvers coins, rather they impart knowledge.” [Musnad Al Bazzar, Sahih according to Al Bazzar (Rahimullah)]

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like my superiority over you. Verily, Allah, His angels and the Inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth, even the ant in his hole and the fish in the depth of the ocean sends blessings upon the scholar.” (Sahih Al Bukhari).

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be him) said: “This knowledge will be carried on by the Trustworthy ones of every generation. They will expel from it the alternations made by those going beyond bounds, the false claims of the liars and the false interpretation of the ignorant ones.” [Al Bayhaqi, Classed as Sahih by Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (Rahimullah)]

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Beautify the Quran with your voices.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah brighten a man, who hears a Hadith from us, learns It by Heart, and Passes It on to others.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 3660)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah beautify a man, who hears a saying of mine, understands it and conveys it.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah cause his face to shine, a man who hears a Hadith of mine, and he remembers it and conveys, and perhaps to whom It is conveyed to, remembers It better then the one who hears it first.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Book of Purification, Hadith 232).

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is Incumbent upon those who are present to convey (The Hadith) to those who are absent.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Abu Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “No one preserved more Tradition than I, but Abdullah Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) is an exception, for he used to write and I did not.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If Allah guides someone through you, It will be better for you than a whole lot of red camels.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever is asked about knowledge, and He does not answer, Allah will clothe him with the brindle of fire on the day of resurrection.” (Ibn Majah)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever guides someone to goodness, will have a similar reward.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace And Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever calls others to right guidance will have a reward equal to all those who follow him.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “He who goes out of his house in order to seek knowledge, is considered as struggling in the path of Allah until he returns.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites the Quran beautifully will be in the company of noble angels, and whoever recites it with difficulty, stammering through Its verses, will have twice the reward.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Adhere to my Sunnah and the ways of the Rightly guided caliphs, adhere to It and stick fast to it..” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4607)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O Turner of the Hearts, make my Heart steadfast and Firm on Your Deen.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O Allah, the Director of the Hearts, direct our Hearts to your obedience.” (Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (Peace And Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “(O Allah), Inspire my Heart to guidance, and save me from the Evil of my soul (nafs).” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You are the One who Pardons, you love to Pardon so Pardon me.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O Allah, forgive my sins, whether small ones or cardinal ones, the first and the last, and the apparent or the hidden.” (Sahih Muslim)
