Friday Reminder Read Surah Al- Kahf

Friday Reminder Read Surah Al- Kahf

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever reads surah Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah (Friday), will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next (I.e it will serve as source of guidance and protection for him)”

[Narrated by Al-Haakim 2/399, classed as Sahih by Shaykh Albani (rah)]

Below I will elaborate on just one verse from surah kahf. But please remember that the magic and benefit isn’t in sole repetition. That’s not where the magic happens. But when we ponder through its contents, and act upon the advise we find therein:

————————-
“And keep thyself patiently along with those who call unto their Lord at morning and evening, seeking His Countenance; and let not thine eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and the glitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, who followeth his own desires and whose case hath been abandoned.”

~ Quran, Surah Khaf Ch.18 v.28
————————-

Some of the lessons we can extract from that one verse alone are the following; and I will break this verse down into five parts:

1. “And keep thyself patiently along with those who call unto their Lord at morning and evening”

{I.e religious commitment isn’t always easy} We are urged by Allaah to be patient upon it and to be in the company of those who call upon their Lord in the morning and evening of every day, as this encourages one to stay focused and committed {to be around those who will influence you toward your deen}.

2. “And let not thine eyes over look them by “desiring the pomp and the glitter of the life of the world.”

I.e Don’t over look this most important matter of keeping in the company of those who remember Allaah often. And don’t be tempted by the materials of this world as this takes you away from the remembrance of Allaah and the hereafter.

3. “and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance,”

I.e be careful to take advise from people who are heedless of their religion, who are heedless of the akhirah! As they will advise you from other than what will help your eternal salvation (paradise) as they themselves don’t really believe it.

4. “Those who followeth their own desires”

I.e they are people who care only about their own whims and desires

5. “And who’s case has been abandoned”

I.e because Allaah knows what is in their hearts, that they have no desire to follow their religion, thus Allaah has abandoned these people and left them to their own devices {Allaah has left such people to stray because of what is in their hearts}
