Verses including the word Nuh (as) (Noah)

We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma’il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms. (Surah An-Nisa’, 163)

We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) guided: and before him, We guided Noah, and among his progeny, David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good: (Surah Al-An‘am, 84)

We sent Noah to his people. He said: “O my people! worship Allah.ye have no other god but Him.I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful day! (Surah Al-A‘raf, 59)

The leaders of his people said: “Ah! we see thee evidently wandering (in mind).” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 60)

He said: “O my people! No wandering is there in my (mind): on the contrary I am an apostle from the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds! (Surah Al-A‘raf, 61)

“I but fulfil towards you the duties of my Lord’s mission: Sincere is my advice to you, and I know from Allah something that ye know not. (Surah Al-A‘raf, 62)

“Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord, through a man of your own people, to warn you,- so that ye may fear Allah and haply receive His Mercy?” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 63)

“Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord through a man of your own people, to warn you? call in remembrance that He made you inheritors after the people of Noah, and gave you a stature tall among the nations.Call in remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah.that so ye may prosper.” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 69)

Hath not the story reached them of those before them?- the People of Noah, and ‘Ad, and Thamud; the People of Abraham, the men of Midian, and the cities overthrown. To them came their apostles with clear signs. It is not Allah Who wrongs them, but they wrong their own souls. (Surah At-Tawba, 70)

Relate to them the story of Noah.Behold! he said to his people: “O my people, if it be hard on your (mind) that I should stay (with you) and commemorate the signs of Allah,- yet I put my trust in Allah.Get ye then an agreement about your plan and among your partners, so your plan be on to you dark and dubious. Then pass your sentence on me, and give me no respite. (Surah Yunus, 71)

“But if ye turn back, (consider): no reward have I asked of you: my reward is only due from Allah, and I have been commanded to be of those who submit to Allah.s will (in Islam).” (Surah Yunus, 72)

They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)! (Surah Yunus, 73)

We sent Noah to his people (with a mission): “I have come to you with a Clear Warning: (Surah Hud, 25)

“That ye serve none but Allah.Verily I do fear for you the penalty of a grievous day.” (Surah Hud, 26)

But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: “We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing ye are liars!” (Surah Hud, 27)

He said: “O my people! See ye if (it be that) I have a Clear Sign from my Lord, and that He hath sent Mercy unto me from His own presence, but that the Mercy hath been obscured from your sight? shall we compel you to accept it when ye are averse to it? (Surah Hud, 28)

“And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward is from none but Allah. But I will not drive away (in contempt) those who believe: for verily they are to meet their Lord, and ye I see are the ignorant ones! (Surah Hud, 29)

“And O my people! who would help me against Allah if I drove them away? Will ye not then take heed? (Surah Hud, 30)

“I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel.Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer.” (Surah Hud, 31)

They said: “O Noah! thou hast disputed with us, and (much) hast thou prolonged the dispute with us: now bring upon us what thou threatenest us with, if thou speakest the truth!?” (Surah Hud, 32)

He said: “Truly, Allah will bring it on you if He wills,- and then, ye will not be able to frustrate it! (Surah Hud, 33)

“Of no profit will be my counsel to you, much as I desire to give you (good) counsel, if it be that Allah willeth to leave you astray: He is your Lord! and to Him will ye return!” (Surah Hud, 34)

Or do they say, “He has forged it”? Say: “If I had forged it, on me were my sin! and I am free of the sins of which ye are guilty! (Surah Hud, 35)

It was revealed to Noah: “None of thy people will believe except those who have believed already! So grieve no longer over their (evil) deeds. (Surah Hud, 36)

“But construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood).” (Surah Hud, 37)

Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him.He said: “If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise! (Surah Hud, 38)

“But soon will ye know who it is on whom will descend a penalty that will cover them with shame,- on whom will be unloosed a penalty lasting:” (Surah Hud, 39)

At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: “Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family – except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers.” but only a few believed with him. (Surah Hud, 40)

So he said: “Embark ye on the Ark, In the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!” (Surah Hud, 41)

So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): “O my son! embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!” (Surah Hud, 42)

The son replied: “I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water.” Noah said: “This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He hath mercy! “And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. (Surah Hud, 43)

Then the word went forth: “O earth! swallow up thy water, and O sky! Withhold (thy rain)!” and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word went forth: “Away with those who do wrong!” (Surah Hud, 44)

And Noah called upon his Lord, and said: “O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true, and Thou art the justest of Judges!” (Surah Hud, 45)

He said: “O Noah! He is not of thy family: For his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!” (Surah Hud, 46)

Noah said: “O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!” (Surah Hud, 47)

The word came: “O Noah! Come down (from the Ark) with peace from Us, and blessing on thee and on some of the peoples (who will spring) from those with thee: but (there will be other) peoples to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end will a grievous penalty reach them from Us.” (Surah Hud, 48)

Such are some of the stories of the unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy people knew them.So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous. (Surah Hud, 49)

“And O my people! let not my dissent (from you) cause you to sin, lest ye suffer a fate similar to that of the people of Noah or of Hud or of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you! (Surah Hud, 89)

Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? – of the people of Noah, and ‘Ad, and Thamud? – And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came apostles with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: “We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us.” (Surah İbrahim, 9)

O ye that are sprung from those whom We carried (in the Ark) with Noah! Verily he was a devotee most grateful. (Surah Al-Isra’, 3)

How many generations have We destroyed after Noah? and enough is thy Lord to note and see the sins of His servants. (Surah Al-Isra’, 17)

Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose.Whenever the Signs of ((Allah)) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears. (Surah Maryam, 58)

(Remember) Noah, when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress. (Surah Al-Anbiya’, 76)

We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. (Surah Al-Anbiya’, 77)

If they treat thy (mission) as false, so did the peoples before them (with their prophets),- the People of Noah, and ‘Ad and Thamud; (Surah Al-Hajj, 42)

(Further, We sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: He said, “O my people! worship Allah.Ye have no other god but Him.Will ye not fear (Him)?” (Surah Al-Muminun, 23)

The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: “He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old.” (Surah Al-Muminun, 24)

(And some said): “He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time.” (Surah Al-Muminun, 25)

(Noah) said: “O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!” (Surah Al-Muminun, 26)

So We inspired him (with this message): “Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). (Surah Al-Muminun, 27)

And when thou hast embarked on the Ark – thou and those with thee,- say: “Praise be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong.” (Surah Al-Muminun, 28)

And say: “O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark.” (Surah Al-Muminun, 29)

Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men). (Surah Al-Muminun, 30)

And the people of Noah,- when they rejected the apostles, We drowned them, and We made them as a Sign for mankind; and We have prepared for (all) wrong-doers a grievous Penalty;- (Surah Al-Furqan, 37)

The people of Noah rejected the apostles. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 105)

Behold, their brother Noah said to them: “Will ye not fear ((Allah))? (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 106)

“I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust: (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 107)

“So fear Allah, and obey me. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 108)

“No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds: (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 109)

“So fear Allah, and obey me.” (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 110)

They said: “Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?” (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 111)

He said: “And what do I know as to what they do? (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 112)

“Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 113)

“I am not one to drive away those who believe. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 114)

“I am sent only to warn plainly in public.” (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 115)

They said: “If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death).” (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 116)

He said: “O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 117)

“Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me.” (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 118)

So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures). (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 119)

Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 120)

Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara’, 121)

We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin. (Surah Al-‘Ankabut, 14)

But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples! (Surah Al-‘Ankabut, 15)

And remember We took from the prophets their covenant: As (We did) from thee: from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus the son of Mary: We took from them a solemn covenant: (Surah Al-Ahzab, 7)

(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. (Surah As-Saffat, 75)

And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, (Surah As-Saffat, 76)

And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); (Surah As-Saffat, 77)

And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: (Surah As-Saffat, 78)

“Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!” (Surah As-Saffat, 79)

Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. (Surah As-Saffat, 80)

For he was one of our believing Servants. (Surah As-Saffat, 81)

Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. (Surah As-Saffat, 82)

Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. (Surah As-Saffat, 83)

But (there were people) before them, who denied (the Signs),- the People of Noah, and the Confederates (of Evil) after them; and every People plotted against their prophet, to seize him, and disputed by means of vanities, therewith to condemn the Truth; but it was I that seized them! and how (terrible) was My Requital! (Surah Ghafir, 5)

Then said the man who believed: “O my people! Truly I do fear for you something like the Day (of disaster) of the Confederates (in sin)!- (Surah Ghafir, 30)

“Something like the fate of the People of Noah, the ‘Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came after them: but Allah never wishes injustice to his Servants. (Surah Ghafir, 31)

The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah – the which We have sent by inspiration to thee – and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him). (Surah Ash-Shura, 13)

Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, (Surah Qaf, 12)

So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. (Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 46)

And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, (Surah An-Najm, 52)

Before them the People of Noah rejected (their apostle): they rejected Our servant, and said, “Here is one possessed!”, and he was driven out. (Surah Al-Qamar, 9)

Then he called on his Lord: “I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!” (Surah Al-Qamar, 10)

So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. (Surah Al-Qamar, 11)

And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. (Surah Al-Qamar, 12)

But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm- fibre: (Surah Al-Qamar, 13)

She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! (Surah Al-Qamar, 14)

And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? (Surah Al-Qamar, 15)

But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? (Surah Al-Qamar, 16)

And We sent Noah and Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors. (Surah Al-Hadid, 26)

Allah sets forth, for an example to the Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut: they were (respectively) under two of our righteous servants, but they were false to their (husbands), and they profited nothing before Allah on their account, but were told: “Enter ye the Fire along with (others) that enter!” (Surah At-Tahrim, 10)

We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): “Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty.” (Surah Nuh, 1)

He said: “O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: (Surah Nuh, 2)

“That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: (Surah Nuh, 3)

“So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew.” (Surah Nuh, 4)

He said: “O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: (Surah Nuh, 5)

“But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). (Surah Nuh, 6)

“And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. (Surah Nuh, 7)

“So I have called to them aloud; (Surah Nuh, 8)

“Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, (Surah Nuh, 9)

“Saying, ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; (Surah Nuh, 10)

“‘He will send rain to you in abundance; (Surah Nuh, 11)

“‘Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). (Surah Nuh, 12)

“‘What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- (Surah Nuh, 13)

“‘And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), (Surah Nuh, 17)

“‘And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? (Surah Nuh, 18)

“‘And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out), (Surah Nuh, 19)

“‘That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'” (Surah Nuh, 20)

Noah said: “O my Lord! They have disobeyed me, but they follow (men) whose wealth and children give them no increase but only Loss. (Surah Nuh, 21)

“And they have devised a tremendous Plot. (Surah Nuh, 22)

“And they have said (to each other), ‘Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa’, neither Yaguth nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr’;- (Surah Nuh, 23)

“They have already misled many; and grant Thou no increase to the wrong- doers but in straying (from their mark).” (Surah Nuh, 24)

Because of their sins they were drowned (in the flood), and were made to enter the Fire (of Punishment): and they found- in lieu of Allah. none to help them. (Surah Nuh, 25)

And Noah, said: “O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth! (Surah Nuh, 26)

“For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones. (Surah Nuh, 27)

“O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women: and to the wrong-doers grant Thou no increase but in perdition!” (Surah Nuh, 28)
